What should you serve at a business meeting?

What you serve at your business lunch is up to you. We recommend that you’re led by the nature of the formality of the meeting and the delegates involved.

Our buffets are ideal for large meetings. While cooked food takes time to be served, with a buffet people are free to help themselves, can hold their food in one hand while taking notes in the other and won’t be distracted if the business talk continues.

Sandwiches, fresh fruit and savoury bites are often the best fare. These are excellent choices, as the risk of spillages and accidents are reduced, ensuring clean white shirts and presentation documents are left clean and usable. Sweet treats are tasty but may result in an afternoon sugar crash, while spicy foods may not be for everyone’s tastes.

Water and fresh juice are also advised over carbonated drinks.

Harriets Buffets are all freshly made in our tearooms on the day of purchase. This means amendments to the menu can be made up until 9.30am on the day of the event. Because the buffet is made to order, we can satisfy all dietary requirements. Our menus cater for a wide variety of vegetarian, gluten and lactose-free, and coeliac friendly options. Speak to a manager at the time of booking to compile your bespoke menu.
